2012 Challenge

My 2012 Challenge

1250 miles & 200,000 vertical feet

Each week I’ll update my progress on my challenge tab. I’ll need to average 24 miles and 3836 vertical feet/week to stay on target to complete the challenge. No slacking for me! I’ll need to stock up on vertical feet early because once kayaking enters the mix, my VF will go flat.

  1. Hey, best of luck and very cool challenge. This is certainly a good way to stay in shape. I've been thinking about posting more of my stats on my own page. Without looking at the stats, after reaching 95 4000-footers in 2011, my elevation gain was somewhere between 160k-170k. The mix of activities should allow you to take care of that without issue. Good luck, and Happy New Year.

  3. Hello,

I apologize, this comment is off topic. I wanted to contact you, Telemarkmike. Looking around your website, I didn't see an email contact and thought this might be the best way.

I had the opportunity to climb Sleeping Beauty last fall and thought Bumps Pond was absolutely gorgeous! However, I didn't have the chance to get any photos. I was looking around online and found the one you had taken. I am interested in having a painting made of such a photo, so I wanted to contact you to discuss this possibility.

    Thank you.

    1. I still have to update my final 2012 stats.

2013 will be less statistics. I'm working on my winter 46, and will be doing more bushwhack hikes. Backcountry skiing when the snow is good. More kayaking this summer.
